Mission

The Jasmine Foundation is a charity established in Australia to provide relief and assistance to children in needy circumstances, particularly in disaster struck communities.

Aims

The foundation will initially focus on helping orphaned and abandoned children in civil war damaged and tsunami devastated eastern Sri Lanka. To that end, the foundation will work together with the St John's Church in Batticaloa to provide relief and assistance. Accordingly, in the short term, proceeds received by the foundation from fundraisers, auctions and the like will be distributed to the St John's orphanages in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka.

In the longer term, distributions will be assessed on a needs and case by case basis. We expect to support and develop programmes to assist orphaned and abandoned children in eastern Sri Lanka. These include supporting
further building works and vocational training programmes. We will also explore other opportunities to provide relief to children in disaster struck communities, both in Australia and other developing countries.
